While it’s something we endeavour to avoid, introduced design errors can occur during the various revision stages for a variety of reasons. For errors related to interior formatting, this often is related to the fact that Microsoft Word do not always import perfectly into InDesign, the program the designers uses to typeset your manuscript, which can result in strange breaking of sentences and paragraphs for example). Of course, our designers are humans and mistakes do happen, not to mention the fact that instructions that may seem very clear to you, may not be clear to your designer.
In instances where errors have been introduced, Tellwell will not count the correction of these errors toward the maximum number of changes allowed per revision round, so not to worry, we'll get it fixed for you!
On the other hand, keep in mind that in the world of publishing different types of books will traditionally have different styling conventions. If you do not provide specific directions with regards to the interior layout, your designer will use their expertise to choose formatting styles that make sense for your genre of book.
If you're not totally satisfied with the way your designer has styled the interior of your book, don't worry, that's exactly why we have revision rounds!
Note: when submitting your revisions, for any change that should be made everywhere in the book, you only need to make the request once, on the first instance of the change to be made. So, if for example you want the font and size of all chapter titles changed, you would indicate the revision on the title of chapter 1 as such:
