If you have eBooks in your package, yes! Setting a pre-order date will allow your readers customers to place an order for your eBook at any point from the time your book is distributed, leading up to the release/on-sale date you set.
All pre-order retail payments will be processed and readers will receive their eBook downloads on the release date. This can create a spike in sales rankings and help more readers discover your book.
To set up a pre-sale for your eBook version, please reach out to your Project Manager to specify the on-sale date you'd like to use. We recommend setting the date 30-90 days after the book is ready to be distributed.
Please note that for the print book (paperback and hardcover, if applicable) on the other hand, unfortunately KDP/Amazon does not support pre-sales, and while Ingram does give us the ability to offer a pre-sale, the reality is many retailers choose not to list titles until the official release date.
As such, what we can do is publish the print book a day or two in advance of the on-sale date. Please note that there is no way to guarantee a perfect synchronization of ebook and print launch; sometimes it will go through right away and be available a day or two early, other times there may be a delay or a technical error and the print book might be out a day or two after the ebook on-sale date.
