Your point of contact through the publishing journey with Tellwell will be your dedicated project manager (PM), one of our team of publishing experts who will guide you through the process.
Your PM will liaise directly with the various members of your publishing team*—your editor, designer, illustrator, marketing consultant, etc.—and provide the support and encouragement you need to make your finished book the best it can be.
Tellwell PMs are publishing authorities who understand that no two books are alike. Your PM will give your book the specialized attention it deserves and offer you advice informed by current publishing industry standards and best practices. Your relationship with your PM begins with an orientation call, where they will start to get to know you and your book, and answer any immediate questions you may have.
Working with a dedicated PM means that if you have a question for us, the person answering will be the one most familiar with the details of your particular book. If you need help, you can:
- Email support@tellwell.ca and your PM will respond within 24 hours (Monday–Friday).
- Book a time for a call using the link to your PM’s online booking calendar.
- Browse our online help centre. It’s always available and packed with informative articles and how-to videos to assist you with every concern that may arise.
Your PM works in concert with Octavo, our unique task-management portal that ensures every step in your publishing process is completed quickly and in its proper order by each member of your team. As author of your book, you will always retain complete control of the content and presentation, so all composition is your responsibility. Your PM will let you know about all the big decisions you will be making, and get you to fill out detailed questionnaires to communicate your wishes to the team via Octavo each step of the way.
To ensure the best results and most efficient process, it’s important to follow all the guidelines you will encounter through each step, and prepare your original manuscript and any revisions as carefully and thoroughly as possible. The quality of the finished product will always reflect the quality of the materials at the beginning of the process, so please proof all editing and design services you receive with care, to make sure every element is completely to your satisfaction. No alteration your team suggests is irreversible.
Please note that we will do all we can to ensure you remain in the care of a single PM for the entirety of your publishing journey with Tellwell. On the rarest of occasions this may change, but only if it is unavoidable. You can reduce the possibility of this by completing all tasks on your end in as timely a manner as possible, but in the event of a change, please know that your new PM would receive every detail of your account, so the transition would be seamless.
The mutual respect and clear lines of communication you will establish with your project manager are the keys to a successful publishing experience, and we are excited to begin your partnership!
*Not all of the above listed services are included in every project. Please check the “purchases” tab on your Octavo project page to see which services are included in your publishing package.
